Delonghi customer service is THE WORST

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My espresso maker failed back in December 2014. I sent it in and it was sent back with external damage and still making a terrible noise. They said it was working fine. I contacted company and was put with a manager Rose Ray. I was told to send it back in. The units damaged exterior was fixed but the horrible sound remained. Rose told me it must have been jarred during shipping. Rose Ray who works for encompass does not have any customer service skills and refuses to have my unit professionally packed to avoid damage or replace it as they cannot seem to repair it. Do not waste any of your hard earned dollars on anything Delonghi! I keep asking for her boss and as of now I have not gotten a response.

Service

I bought a Pac 11 last August now the fan has broken and there is no one in my area who works on Delonghi. I have spent the whole morning trying to find a service area near me or trying to talk to someone on the phone no help. My serial # 31721, another # 90053P005359. Please answer this \this is my last request before I go to the better business bureau. How can you sell appliances and have no one to take care on customers and service and phone calls. Your attention as I said before will be greatly appreciated. Eleanor Dowd 509-548-**** Grammyd23@***.com

JUNK! Delonghi Prima Dona Machine.

We purchased a Delonghi Prima Dona coffee machine with 5 year guarantee on 25 Feb 2014, from Currys but that's another story! Cost was £1058.99. It was great for a while but blew up on 7 Nov 2014. We returned it to Currys who were insistent we return it to Delonghi for repair. I refused and eventually they replaced it with an updated model and insisted we pay the difference £29.01. How angry are we that the *** thing broke again on 24 Mar 2015 that's 4 months only! We were advised by knowhow Currys guarantee company to return it to store for a replacement. Imagine my surprise Currys have refused to change and insisted they send to Delonghi for repair. I am really unhappy about this and they say it will be away for 30 days! This machine was NOT fit for purpose and I would urge anyone NOT to buy one especially from Currys as they stand behind, they say the deal they set up with Delonghi which is to return machines to them for repair and will not replace. I will never buy Delonghi products again and will NOT shop at Currys again as their customer service is disgusting. Buyers beware be warned this product is rubbish, not fit for purpose, and I wish we had never given one houseroom. BE WARNED!!!

Rapid response, excellent espresso, wouldn't buy anything else

i have 2 super automatic espresso machines. They have worked tirelessly for over 4 years now. I literally can't live without them. And we probably make 4-6 drinks per day saving tremendously over Starbucks or others. When the grinder on one broke I was devastated. Customer care was on the line quickly and I was able to speak with a real person. They sent me a well padded white gloves box and a shipping label for service. I sent it in to a designated Delonghi service center and 2 weeks later received it back in perfect working order. Thank you Delonghi. I am one satisfied customer. Super automatics are finicky machines and I wouldn't consider any other brand.

Almost a FIRE with Defective DeLonghi Heater

Almost a FIRE with Defective DeLonghi Heater
Almost a FIRE with Defective DeLonghi Heater - Image 2

I have a brand new DeLonghi upright (radiator) heater that almost started a house fire!

It melted the outlet and the outlet cover plate, fried my lighting plug that was also plugged into the same outlet and effected the other outlet / electronics that were on the same circuit.

It melted the outlet plugs to the outlet and plate cover.

It took a decent amount of tugging to pull the outlet out of the outlet.

DeLonghi phone number continues to say the hold time is 2-3 minutes and have been on the phone for over an hour. I've made countless calls with long hold times with no response and finally hung up.

By the the looks you had a loose neutral connection, which will get hot if termination is loose. The long slot on the receptacle is the neutral side, the short slot in the hot side.

Notice the side that is burnt, it's the neutral side. You might want to have and electrician check your outlets. Loose neutrals will start fires, and will never short out. Depending on the age of your house, do you have copper or aluminum.

If aluminum you should have it pigtailed. A 15amp outlet circuit, #14wire is only good for 12amp after derating.

One of these heater operating at max is not safe when sharing with other other appliances or lighting. Good luck

Your heater on high draws 1500watts, at 120 volts that's roughly 12 amps. Keep in mind your outlet is only rated for 15amps brand new.

What additional wattage is the light, and was it on at that time? It it very Likley this is simply a poor connection between the plug and outlet. This can be a common problem with older outlets or defective outlets. Please consider replacing any outlets in your home that are of similar age and show any signs of loose fitting plugs.

In a normal failure the loose connection is the hottest point in the path, not seeing the cord but assuming the melting gets less the further away from the outlet, this most certainly is an outlet failure.

Do you also by chance have aluminum wiring, this can complicate matters, if you do please get an electrician involved to add pigtails or replace conductors were practical.

Delonghi - Coffee Maker Review from Southport, England

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Hi. Delonghi coffee maker bought at currys. Took extra cover £50. Got broken they took it for repair for 30 days. Came back fixed( not as good as it was before). In 6-8 weeks got broken again. Sent it away for another repair. Came back after 21 day. Took it out of box and...2 piano black panels got scratched by service people. Took it back and complained. Currys said they have to take machine away for 28 days to replace panel. Point is: I bought machine to make coffee every day and this is not happening. 3 months away out of 4. How to make official complain and get in touch with trading standards about Delonghi poor customer service? My email: aryekhov7@***.co.uk

Delonghi Customer Service is NON EXISTENT

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Decided to buy a decent branded dehumidifier from Argos - chose Delonghi - not least because it came with a 2 year warranty. First and last Delonghi product I will EVER buy. Product failed after about a year of medium use. Despite multiple emails, 2 one hour plus calls to their *lack of* "customer experience helpline", I have yet to be able to speak to ANYONE from delonghi. The best i got from them was a week after filling out my second contact form to them was that it would take a little longer for them to respond to me (than the quoted 5 days) " We are currently experiencing a high volume of enquiries and it is taking a little longer than expected to respond to emails. Please bear with us as we are working hard to reduce our response time, whilst maintaining the high level of customer support you expect. Thank you for your patience." This was almost 3 weeks ago... So Delonghi's idea of high level of customer support appears to simply not have any contact with the customer at all. I have sent a letter to their head office expressing my frustration with their company and surprise surprise, I have heard nothing back. I have NEVER experienced such poor customer service from a company EVER. DO NOT BUY DELONGHI...

Delonghi Ec155 Review

I bought a DeLonghi c 155 cappuccino and expresso machine highly rated in Which magazine for the quality of its espresso and cappuccinos. I've had it three days and have found it impossible to get anything resembling coffee out of it. The instructions are poor and the machine does not do what it's supposed to, it's rubbish and I'm returning it tomorrow. Good riddance!

No one picks up the phone either! My Delonghi machine stopped working after just ONE month! Nobody bothers to get back to me. I have sent 5 emails to the Company, and called them but I've been on the line for over 45minutes and the line just goes dead after. I am having a H20 issue that keeps coming up, and no matter what I do, I cannot find a solution to get rid of it. As such I have not been able to make any coffee since December 2014 This is going to my first and last time I ever buy their *** products.

Ripped off by Delongi

Delonghi - Ripped off by Delongi
Delonghi - Ripped off by Delongi - Image 2

I purchased the Delonghi Pinguino portable AC 12,500 btu unit at Costco today for close to 400.00. What a hassle it was to bring the unit home and lug it up my staircase.

I finally put the unit together. I discover the exhaust hose was 12 inches long (way too short) and would not reach my window (just a regular window). I called Delonghi customer service who stated the unit was supposed to come with a 3 feet hose. The company obviously packaged the wrong hose with the unit.

I was told the company would mail me the correct hose. I was willing to wait for the hose. I asked the obvious, confirming I would not have to pay for any shipping. She told me they will not pay the shipping and I would need to pay for the shipping.

WHAT??? I PAID to have the correct hose when purchasing the unit. Why is the customer paying for their mistake? I said 'forget it..

I'm returning this to Costco'.

So here I go again with all the hassle to take this unit back to Costco! This company is ripping customers off!!!

I believe the hose that came with the unit is correct. I just purchased a similar unit (14000 btu) at Costco and just finished setting it up. The 12" inch hose is collapsed like an accordion and can be stretched out to the 3 feet that you require to vent it out the window.

Mine came with the same flexible hose - The hose stretches out like a slinky to 3 feet when you pull it!

Guest

I bought the same unit from Costco and it too had a 1-foot hose. Instead of losing my mind and calling the company, I pulled the hose from both ends, thus extending it to 3-feet. Not rocket science folks!!!!!

Guest

Costco has a great return policy, and would, I am sure, either refund directly or exchange the unit.

Guest

hello....the hose that comes with that unit is expandable....just grab both ends and stretch apart....it will be 3 feet long when you finish.......

My wife and I bought a Delonghi coffee maker. It wasn't top of the line, but it wasn't cheap either. After about 6 months, the carafe would leak under the plastic rim. After searching online, I found this was a common problem. I tried to see about replacing just the carafe part, but found this item was no longer available. I contacted the company about my problem and asked about replacement parts and if the problem had been solved. I received the automated email about the service representatives responding within 48 hours. When I didn't hear from them I called, to never reach a person. As they didn't call back or respond to any emails, i took the pot apart and found the problem and fixed it. almost three months later, the machine quit working. as I didn't receive response before, I just bought a new maker. I received an email today, nearly a year later, in response to my original request for help. I was not nice in my response to that email asking for serial number and contact information. Needless to say, I will never buy another product from them, nor will I recommend one.

Terrible delonghi customer service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
10 year warranty on the motor of my delonghi stand mixer and after 6 years, it died. The closest repair shop is a province away-costly shipping! Was told to send I thought to check if the motor was in the shop to repair before sending. delonghi told me not yet but call back in a week. I called and was told this repair shop no longer did repairs for them. where would my machine be if I had sent it. Then they told me they would send me the base-motor part - and I was to put my broken one in the box and send it back to them with the same courier. Got a call back from delonghi and was told that info was all wrong. I spoke with a supervisor-very rude and I am back to square one, only another province further. I don't think it will ever be repaired by them. Lots of glitter on their products when enticing the buyer but only rust on their customer service after they rob our pocket books. I'll NEVER purchase anything from them again and I will discourage everyone I know. By the way, delonghi bought out kenmore, so buyer beware!!

Lost my machine - won't replace it

Our $3000 Delonghi PrimaDonna, which we purchased 6 months prior, began having issues, and stopped making espresso. We spoke with customer service who, after trying several options, sent us a box and a Fed Ex call tag for us to ship it to Texas for service. Apparently, they did not code the Call Tag properly, because Fed Ex has lost the package. We have now been contacting Delonghi Customer Service and Fed Ex almost daily for the past month. Both companies are being very pleasant, but no one is solving the problem, and don't seem particularly concerned that my $3000 machine is lost in the abyss. They seem to think it isn't their problem and their position is to "wait." There is no other method of recourse that they offer. Escalation to Delonghi corporate has gone nowhere. They are ignoring me. I would never purchase another Delonghi product based on this experience, and am doing my best to spread the word. On another note - it is pretty frustrating that the machine would break down after only 6 months use anyway.

Stopped Working after 4 Months

Horrible, horrible customer service. I complained to the Better Business Bureau and the company did not even respond to them! They tried contacting Delonghi twice on my behalf. Nothing but a run around with their customer service. I filed a complaint with the Department of Consumer Protection. Would never recommend this company. Bought the machine as a gift for my husband who loves coffee. One day the power button will not light up and the ordeal of trying to replace the machine began. The woman on the phone kept sending me in circles with what to send them with no intent of resolving my problem. They kept asking for the same things to be send over and over and over.

Delonghi Grand Dama Avant ESAM6700 $4000 later...

My machine makes a great cup of coffee...when I can see what type of coffee I am selecting! The LCD screen no longer clearly displays what type or size or strength of coffee is selected. So I have been wasting my precious espresso beans trying to figure out what setting it's on! I called Delonghi to ask how a $4000 machine could have such an annoying defect and was told to take it to a repair centre to spend even more money to be able to see if I am making an espresso or a cappuccino. I know there are bigger problems in the world but Delonghi YOU have lost my future business forever. Imagine if I were willing to spend $4000 on a coffee machine how much money you will be missing out on. Not that they really give a ***

WTF are you spending $4k on a coffee maker for? Did it come with a barista or something? Solve the cranio-rectal issue first.
